Tsur Shezaf, an acclaimed writer, journalist, and photographer, was born in Jerusalem in 1959.
In his long career he has enjoyed an influential public role as a column writer with a focus on social and environmental issues, and has published six novels, including Tiger in the Mountains, Love on the Divide, and The Happy Man; seven travel books, including The Silk Road, Shanti Shanti Balagan, and An Israeli Traveler in India; and two travel guides to Jordan and the Sinai Peninsula and Egypt.
Over the years he has carried out reporting missions for the Israeli and the non-Israeli media in danger zones around the world, including Chechnya, Kosovo, Somalia, Sudan, Afghanistan, Iraq, and Lebanon.

Shezaf has photographed and directed films for the National Geographic Channel, has staged one-man photography exhibitions, and has taken part in group exhibitions.
